Politics & new Media

Hi, this has made a lot of noise in the last few days on the web, fortunatly the one concerned by the buzz is probably not surfing much...
I'm talking about Frédéric Lefebvre, a close friend of Sarkozy who is ment to become the State secretary for digital economy. When the BFM tv journalist asked him what he was thinking about web 2.0 (a fairly widespread concept nowadays... even for rookies), the comedy started...

See the video below for your own judgement, even non french speakers will ear hesitation in the answer.

But not only this man is not understanding at all what he'll be supposed to look for, he also has dangerous ideas. For instance controlling every box in every house, checking up what is down & uploaded, and let the CSA (Conseil Superieur de l'Audiovisuel) look for what is to be published online.
That last one prouves again that he doesn't understand the importance and possibilities of the new media in the economy of tomorrow, putting a control over content by an organism exclusively dedicated to TV usually, and trying to preserve his music labels friends although the business model is already osbsolete.

If that guy was to be chosen for this job, we would become almost worst than the Chineese (no offend) regarding liberty of expression.
A funny situation for the country where were born human rights, which liberty of expression is part of, and undoubtedly one of the most important.

God forbid us to choose that man for that purpose or what so ever ! God forbid us for Sarkozy and his "friends" !
Big Brother is watching over you but for his own interests, which the new media will hardly ever serve by nature.
