Governance - Thoughts of the day
PROCESSES AT WORK IN BASIC LEADERSHIP SYSTEMS :::::::::::
Totalitarian system, i.e one man gouvernance plus suppliers, would be the perfect match, if that man, and his "arms" where totally devoted to the human cause.
Unfortunatly history has shown that one man cannot take such a thing without loosing his mind. Greed, paranoia, pride, deprive him finally, of any ability to take clear jugement. It may not come initally from him, but his pretendants will soon start, then forcing him to do so...
Democratic government system on the other hand, is working fine until a certain point of sofistication of a society. Because the number of intepretations for reality perception, before arriving to the governance deciders, is becoming to big. The rigorous perception of people's reality is twisted on the way up, not only by natural distortion of synthesis, but also by the personnal ambitions of the persons doing this synthesis.
After replicating this processes a certain number of times, the greater mind, decision maker, as great as it can be, cannot keep track of these personnal affects on the way up, and thus cannot compensate the twist by reinterprating.
As a conter exemple, we can see that on smaller, monocultural societies, as I said, the system works fine (exepting the innevitable flows) : nordic countries, with their small population, high level of education, are always cited as exemple.
Unfortunatly hardly replicable to bigger societies such as central european countries'.
NB : The "twist of perception" process is appliable to the totalitarian system too, added to the "mind weakness" factor... And same way around with the 3 basic "leader sins" for the members of a democratic government.
We can then define those two phenomenuns (mind weakness & twist of perception) as being reprentative of each political system, nevertheless being part of both !
Governance is elected by people, somehow. So governance, if willing to prolongate its action, has to have :
_ first things first, relevant program of action, and good means to make it real.
_ communication to people in a prioritised and simple maner.
_ a good image to implicate people in reading their reports and giving feedback.
If this last condition isn't there, which depends on the 2 first ones, governance looses sens, ability to respond to the 2 first ones, then looses power.
I'm afraid we are today on that track.
OBSERVING HISTORY TROUGH THIS LENS :::::::::::::::::
Today the very nature of our leaders doesn't feet what's needed.
Situation has changed from a total domination over third world, giving western countries confortable advance for mistakes in leadership, and in management of production / resources.
Such a world was based on a one man leadership over a rather simple, slow evolving, hierarchical, society scheme.
Than there has been a transition, with the arrival of democracy, when some power has been given to people, plus some information (same as power, distributed mildely considering social rank), there has been a need to justify governance actions. People were demanding equity of rights and more recently of living standards.
Colonies were still there to supply for the lack of relevance in leadership. Putting the priviledged first, people second, thrid world last not taking into account dynamics at work. Citing here my folk Sunith on how recent geopolitical science is !
Today we're trying to prolongate these privileges, trying to adapt the old system to todays social, economical & mediatic reality. It just doesn't work anymore, it's obsolete, no more relevant.
Emerging countries with the minium of information (very recently becoming way bigger with internet) leads them to compete with western countries. Those ones strengthen the lowering of remaining third world class countries to compensate.
Clearly this is a dead end, specially if you had pic oil and exhausted resources.
An alternative has to be found quickly.
Proposition :
As over centuries, the democratic governance seemed to be the most relevant, we could continue on that one (thus eviting a revolution which is never a solution).
What is today's governance problem, as described above, is that the people constituating it are from another age, survivors of the totalitarian and then transitionnal "colonial bougeoisie" system of perception. They are dynosaurs whose values can only lead them, and thus us (if we keep sheeping), to distruction.
It's not the structure of governance that has to be changed, it's its people and the ideal they serve. So it is more the electing process which has to be rethought. Only individuals who have shawn devotion to people in every aspect of their work should be eligable for governance.
These are surprisingly not the ones we have above today.
With this first step, we reduce the "mind weakness" factor improving efficiency and relevance of governance.
Then second part would be to define clear and one place writen processes of perception. How reality, in every aspect, is brought up to the decision makers.
Same thing other way around : how decision, actions and follow up of the government should be transmited to people.
