Warning for Apple, MacBook up in the air !

Is it time for appple to stop making us dream of something that we dont need anymore ? Or how the sleak design doesn't mean anything more than trend now.

For long apple have had a reputation of a firm doing computers integraly, and with integrity (from the hardware to the software by cool designers ;p), which made its growing success. Somehow, one could say that Steve Jobs (CEO and creator of Apple) has wone the battle against Bill Gates (CEO and creator of Microsoft), once his friend and co-nerd developper, than his worst enemy.

Eventhough Microsoft owns 20% of Apple since 1996 (for more info about the story, see the movie "pirates of the silicon valley"), they've been able to keep on track : doing the products considering the good use of it (user experience first !). One of the reason today sells on portable computers are 50% for Apple and up to 15% on desktop computers, compared to only 5% of the market all in all before... ! For all that, and its not little, RESPECT to the mighty Apple !

But today, or yesturday (things are moving fast in IT...), they came out with the iPhone (vs iPod touch) and the MacBook Air (vs the regular MacBook).
Those two products are the first ones to double perfectly fine (and more than that) products existing in the range of applestore.
My question is simple : is that anyhow important that the Air is 50g lighter and 0,75 cm thiner, considering the fact that it's wider and doesn't have a cd player ?
Is that anyhow usefull to have a lobbing device (how call it different ?) such as the iPhone, because it's exclusively sold by Orange and thus locked on the GSM network (why ? > they don't know yet what's going to happen when phoning is gonna be free over the web on mobiles...), although the iPod touch is the exact same device ?

I don't think so, only a personal feeling... Hopefully the big firm is not abandoning its principles, let's hope it was just one or two little mistakes due to the pressure of marketing department...
Keep IT real guys !

This article is given to you by the bad ass mothafucka.
Whome considers that big industrials should not release and produce products on such a large scale if they're not usefull, and as simple and reduced as Apple used to do them !
It's consomption, waste of energy, money and resources for nothing...

Well, people want to go light, especially people who travel. And the CD/DVD drivers are based on dying technology, anyways. We go towards flash. Ok, I admit, there is a need for criticism what comes to certain prospects of iPod/phone family. Still, I do get the logic behind.

Here's a very interesting article in the WIRED magazine on Apple management and the paradoxal link it has with success. Quality of products can be partly explained with that. But it's a risky strategy, and thus can generate mistakes...
